How to set up the size recommendation

Adding size recommendations to your size chart makes it easier for customers to choose the right fit, helping increase conversions while reducing returns. This guide will walk you through how to create a size chart with size recommendations in just a few simple steps.

Quick Tutorial: See It in Action

Before diving into the step-by-step instructions, take a moment to watch this short tutorial to see the entire process from start to finish. Once you’re ready, follow the detailed guide below to set everything up.

    Create a Size Chart

To set up Size Recommendation, you first need to select the product type and prepare your size chart:

    • Go to Manage charts.
    • Choose the Product type you want to apply the size chart to (for example: Men’s Top Size Chart)
    • Click Add to chart.
    • Customize the size chart as needed (edit columns, units, image, text, etc.).
    • Once your size chart is ready, switch to the Size recommendation tab to start setting up recommendations.

Step 1. Enable Recommendation & Select Source Table

    • Go to your Size Chart and click on the Size recommendation tab.
    • Toggle Enable recommendation to ON.

    • In Select source table, click on Select button to choose the size chart you want to use as data source.

The data source is the size chart that contains the measurement values (such as chest, waist, length, etc.) used by the Size Recommendation feature.

When a customer enters their body measurements, the app compares those inputs with the selected chart and recommends the best-fitting size based on that data.

In other words, the accuracy of the size recommendation depends entirely on the data in your selected size chart. The system does not generate sizes—it uses your chart data to calculate and suggest the most suitable fit for your customers.

Step 2. Select a Data Source

Choose the size chart that contains your product measurements. This data will be used to generate size recommendations. The accuracy of the suggestions depends entirely on this chart.

    Step 3: Select Core Measurements

Pick the key measurements (such as chest, waist, or length) that customers will enter. These inputs are used to match customers with the most suitable size.

When you select a primary measurement (such as Sleeve), it is given higher priority in the size recommendation process.

This means the system will place more weight on the selected primary measurement when comparing customer inputs with your size chart. As a result, the recommended size will be more strongly influenced by this measurement, helping ensure a better fit based on what matters most for your product.

For example, if Sleeve is set as the primary measurement, the recommendation will prioritize sleeve length over other measurements when determining the best size.

    Important Note:

It’s very important to select the correct size range (first column or first row). The system will use this data to calculate and recommend the most suitable size for your customers.

If the size range is selected incorrectly, the Size Recommendation may not work as expected.

Step 4: Define Chart Interpretation & Fit

Choose how your chart should be interpreted:

    • Body Measurements – Based on the customer’s body size
    • Product Dimensions – Based on garment measurements
    • Not Applicable – For non-clothing products

You can also enable Fit Preference, allowing customers to choose between a tighter or looser fit for more personalized recommendations.

Once everything is configured, the app will compare customer inputs with your chart data and automatically suggest the best-fitting size.

That’s it! You’ve successfully created a size chart with size recommendations in DEVNZO Size Chart & Size Guide.
