Indicates how much profit a company makes from its core business operations, excluding interest and taxes.
Formula: (Operating Income / Revenue) x 1003. Net Profit Margin
This is the "bottom line" and shows the percentage of revenue left after all expenses, including taxes and interest, have been deducted from revenue.
Formula: (Net Income / Revenue) x 1004. EBITDA Margin
Measures a company's operating profit as a percentage of its revenue, before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization.
Formula: (EBITDA / Revenue) x 1005. Contribution Margin
Reveals the amount of revenue available to cover fixed costs after variable costs have been paid.
Formula: (Revenue - Variable Costs) / RevenueSix Strategies to Improve Your Profit Margin
