Size Chart Matching Priority (Highest → Lowest)

Size chart priority decides which size chart shows on a product when more than one chart could fit. The system always picks the most specific match first, then moves to more general ones.

The order is simple:

Product → Collection → Tag → Vendor → All

For example:

Chart A → Made for this exact product

Chart B → Made for a collection

=> Chart A will show, because it is more specific.

How size chart matching works

1. Product (Highest priority)
2. If a size chart is made for a specific product, it will always show first.
3. Collection
4. If no product chart is found, the system checks the product’s collection and shows the matching chart.
5. Tag
6. If there is no collection match, it checks product tags and shows a matching chart.
7. Vendor
8. If no tag matches, it checks the product’s brand/vendor.
9. All (Lowest / fallback)
10. If nothing else matches, a general chart is shown for all products.

Important behavior to know

If a chart is turned off (not published), it will not show at all.

If two charts match at the same level, the system shows the one that comes first in the list.

How to optimize it

1. Use specific charts when possible
2. Make charts for exact products if needed.
3. Keep things simple
4. Avoid too many overlapping rules.
5. Always have a fallback
6. Create a general chart so every product has something to show.
7. Arrange charts properly
8. Put important charts higher in your list so they show first.
